After ten years, the New Bedford Whaling Blues Festival has returned! The beloved outdoor concert at Fort Taber, overlooking beautiful Buzzard’s Bay, hosting the best in blues. The line-up included legends such as Kenny Wayne Shepherd Banda, Shemekia Copeland, and Jon Cleary and The Absolute Monster Gentlemen. As well as up-and-coming stars like Quinn Sullivan, and more local talent throughout the day.
With the return of the festival there was a desire to define a clear look that was still consistent with it's roots. Early on it was realized that something simple and clean did not give off an accurate feeling of what this crazy day of whaling music and great food by the water would be. Instead it was about searching for a balance between the rugged, down and dirty, sense of the blues with the beautifully serene water on the horizon behind the audience.
